Joelle Dumas, Committee Chairperson
Joelle co-founded the VCC Education Committee in 2010 and currently serves as its enthusiastic and inspirational chairperson. The Owner and Director of Ecole Claire Fontaine , a French bilingual preschool, Joelle has been an integral part of the Venice community for over 20 years.
Joelle is passionate about quality education for children that connects them with nature, with their community and with the world at large.

Karen Berrien, Director
A mother of two children whom she raised in Venice, Karen is a generous contributor to the community through her work with Ecole Claire Fontaine, Venice High School and the Venice Chamber of Commerce.

Patricia Tay-Weiss, Director
Owner and Director of Global Noodle,
Patricia is an ardent advocate for foreign language learning for children. As a parent of two, she is an active member of the community through her work with Parents Education League, Westside Chinese School, Coeur d'Alene and Broadway elementary schools.

Erika Kirsten Beck, Director
As a parent at the Broadway Mandarin Immersion Program and Principal of Ryder Media Consultants, Erika generously donates her expertise and time in managing the social platforms for Broadway Elementary School and the VCC Education Committee. Erika is an outspoken advocate for creating efficiency and expanding learning opportunities through technology.
Lisa Christensen, Director
Lisa is a long time Venice resident and a proud parent at Claire Fontaine School. She has a strong passion for Humanitarian causes and is inspired by the eclectic community of Venice as a representation of a Global Community.

Wenchia Tsai-Parker, Director
Wenchia is a Renaissance woman and a valuable asset to the Venice community. As Master Gardener at both Beethoven and Broadway elementary schools, her efforts can be seen through the beautiful trees and gardens now on both campuses. Wenchia is dedicated to educating children and families about taking care of their environment; she wrote and illustrated the book, "Kids Can Compost" and created the recycling program at Beethoven Elementary.
